Job Training

Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Training: Austin Community College (ACC) offers classes tailored to current and future jobs. Scholarships are available to cover the full cost of tuition. During the course, several local employers will be visiting with students to share truck driving experiences and discuss employment opportunities. New classes will begin every month. Customer Service/Call Center Training: This training program will prepare candidates for employment in the customer service field, setting them apart from the competition as job-ready. The program consists of two concurrent courses for a total of 100 hours of class time, delivered over 17 days. Upon program completion, interview opportunities may be available. Customer Service Representative positions start at $14.00/hour or more depending on skills and experience. Heavy Equipment Operator Training: ACC has been training candidates for a wide variety of jobs for many years. As our training partner, ACC is working with our MoveFWD partners to offer a training course geared to the operation of heavy equipment, such as skid steers, front loaders and back hoes. These high-demand skills will prepare every graduate for the job market and will set you on your path to a long-term career. Scholarship and grant opportunities will be available for those who qualify. Course start dates will be announced soon.

Career Management & Social Services:

Our collaborative partners have extensive experience providing a wide range of services to clients and helping prepare job candidates for long-term careers. Each candidate will be assigned a career manager to help assess needs and identify training gaps so that every candidate is in their best position when applying for jobs. Recognizing that each candidate has unique needs, career managers will provide guidance and assistance with even the most basic needs such as housing, food, clothing, and transportation to job interviews and work. Interpersonal skills training in areas such as job applications and resumes, interviewing, time management, and money management will also be provided.
